An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Costing Team for a Patient Level Costing Analyst. In this role, you will ensure that the financial and activity information is produced in accordance with national costing standards in all areas of costing including Service Line Reporting, Patient Level Costing (PLICS), National Cost Collection, and other statutory returns.
Provide specialist knowledge and financial advice to directorates and service units within the Trust and to its external partners, using Service Line Reporting and Patient Level Costing information to support the process of commissioning the Trust's patient care services and making recommendations for improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The appointed individual will be responsible for the following key areas:
o Alongside the SLR & PLICs Lead, they will lead the maintenance and ongoing development of robust systems and processes to continually improve the accuracy of patient level Costing & Service Line Reporting (SLR), and to support the engagement of Operational and Clinical colleagues in the use of Costing information to identify areas where efficiencies can be made.
o Work closely with Service Managers, Finance Managers and Strategic Development teams to interpret and evaluate bench-marking activities in identifying areas of strength and weakness within the Trust's operations.
o As part of the Costing Team developing a SLR and Costing model that is fully compliant with the guidance and standards laid out by NHS England.
o Be a key liaison to senior management, clinical and operational staff for the use and development of Patient-Level Costing.
o Lead the production and completion of the annual National Cost Collection (NCC) and other costing submissions.
o Support the development of PLICs, NCC, and SLR dashboard reports to meet the needs of end users (using Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik).
