Homerton Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Enteral feeding dietitian within our stoke unit. A unique opportunity for a specialist dietitian working within the well- established multidisciplinary team.
The post holder would have autonomy but also support our small but essential acute dietetic team. The role would be based and sit within Stroke however work closely with the 2 specialist dietitians in surgery and critical care.
The post holder will support the Professional Lead dietitian and help direct the trust, division, and the MDT on evidenced based nutritional policies.
This will also include ensuring safe and effective discharge for patients at risk of malnutrition or long / short term enterally fed working closely within NEL and beyond
This is a new exciting role for someone who has the skills passion and team working skills to make this role their own.
The post holder will require clinical reasoning, ethical awareness and a balance of empathy and emotional resilience and advanced communication skills.
We will be looking for someone who has knowledge and experience in the areas of complex enteral feeding, some parenteral nutrition would be desirable and the experience of different dynamics of working in a multidisciplinary team. We actively encourage continuous professional development and value knowledge of quality improvement.

Main duties of the job
- To lead on best practice in complex nutrition, supporting areas including acute stroke, rehabilitation and patients with highly complex physical and physiological conditions ensuring adherence to national policies and NICE guidelines.
- To provide advanced dietetic assessment on patients, including those with diverse presentations and highly complex physical and psychological conditions, to develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme in line with the evidence-based guidelines.
- To be a lead for patients with complex nutrition needs in stroke and neurorehabilitation.
- To jointly lead on research, development, clinical policies and pathways in relevant areas.
- To provide clinical supervision and guidance for junior members of staff within the acute dietetic team.
- To jointly co-ordinate dietetic student training within the acute team liaising with the wider Homerton dietetic service and Higher Education Institutions (HEI).
