An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Camhs Clinician to join the Quick Steps pathway within the First Steps Community Psychology team at the Hackney Ark. This is a full-time permanent role within the innovative Quick Steps pathway that is intended for young people aged 13-18 who have been accepted to First Steps and who would benefit from a timely intervention that is likely to strengthen their existing resources and therefore prevent their circumstances/wellbeing from deteriorating. We are now able to extend this offer to work with and support young people with Autism who are presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
Main duties of the job
The overall aim of the service is to promote the psychological and emotional wellbeing of children and families by intervening before psychological problems become severe and disabling:
- Contribute to further development of the Quick Steps pathway by planning and developing therapeutic assessments and interventions for young people with Autism withing an early intervention service. This may include planning and developing support and interventions for parents as well as the school staff.
- Deliver individualised and group therapeutic interventions for young people with ASD and their families/caregivers who are referred to the QS pathway.
- Work as a member of the wider First Steps team and contribute to the sharing of knowledge and experience of working with young people with Autism across the service via supervision, reflective practice and/or training.
- Liaise and work jointly with colleagues from the CAMHS services across the CAMHS Alliance, social care and education to provide high quality support for children, young people and their families.
