An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic nurse to join the maternity department as a Student Midwife at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will undertake the education and training required to achieve NMC registration as a Registered Midwife.Working as a student midwife involves being recognised as a responsible and accountable individual who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period under the direction/supervision of a registered midwife.This care includes preventative measures, the promotion of an optimal birth experience, the detection of complications in mother and child, the accessing of medical care or other appropriate assistance and the carrying out of emergency measures.
Main duties of the job
o Complete the necessary further education at BSc / PG Dip level in order to provide and maintain a high standard skilled care for women, babies and families in various settings in accordance with the accredited faculty syllabus.o At Homerton, we believe in providing excellent care to our community. This includes competence in identifying any complications that may arise,accessing appropriate assistance, and implementing correct emergency measures.
