Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a urology clinical nurse specialist to join a well established urology team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who has experience and knowledge of benign urology nursing.

This is an excellent chance to hone your specialist urological skills in the care of patients with benign urological conditions. You should be proactive with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

This position is full time with a weekly work schedule of 37.5 hours and will be based at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work alongside the uro-oncology nursing team, the urology doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide evidence based , specialist urology nursing care and treatment to patients diagnosed with benign urological disorders . They will also be expected to take responsibility for the routine management and development of junior staff members.

They will work autonomously in nurse led clinics such as urodynamics clinic, andrology clinic , BPH and continence clinic , and the overall management of catheter clinic. They will also vet and accept referrals for patients to be seen in the urology nurse led clinics .

They would provide expert specialist clinical advice for patients, carers and health care professionals. They will liaise with all appropriate members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensuring a seamless service between acute and primary care services.
