Job summary

The ParaDoc Falls team is recruiting for experienced Paramedics and EMTs.

ParaDoc is a specialist admission avoidance team, for City and Hackney residents. We offer two services. One is working with IIT therapists (Integrated Indepence Team) as part of a Falls service. The second is working with a GP, focussing on keeping patients at home. The post will involve covering shifts in both services, as required

The role is on a Bank basis, and shifts are available across 7 days a week 08:00-14:00

Main duties of the job

Some of the main responsibilities include;

  • Safely triage incoming calls from various agencies, including LAS, 111, carehomes, careworkers.
  • Drive the therapist or GP to calls in a timely and safe manner. A full UK manual driving license will be required, and checks will be made of driving history/ penalty ensorements
  • Visit patients in their homes, including carehome settings. Rapidly assess and treat potentially life threatening illnesses in line with JRCLC guidelines
  • Complete through assessment, working with the therapist on duty, or GP, and formulate and plan with the patient.
  • Use equipment provided to assist with manual handling. Assist patients who have fallen. Use effective manual handing techniques when dealing with patients, for assessment
  • Liaise with other health care professionals to discuss treatment options, and follow ups, including IIT, other hospital services, GPs, ParaDoc staff.
  • Provide medical intervention, including drug therapy within scope of practice, using provided medications. Accurately record all medical / drug intervention.
