Job summary
The Children's Physiotherapy service for Hackney and The City is an innovative and supportive team offering high quality services to our diverse East London community and beyond.
We are looking for a physiotherapist who will ensure an effective and efficient provision of a quality specialist physiotherapy service to children and young people in a range of settings within the community. Intervention includes specialist paediatric assessment, diagnosis, planning and implementing treatment, equipment provision and management of children with a wide range of neuro-muscular and neuro-developmental conditions between the ages of 0-19 years.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will plan and run treatment groups in addition to one to one sessions. They will independently manage their own caseload within the community and will also work within a specialist area as part of the band 6 internal rotation scheme. These areas of specialism currently are:
- orthotics and visual gait analysis
- universal work and H.I.T. squad (Health Integration Team)
- special school
- early years & neonatal intensive care unit
The post holder will also provide mentorship to more junior physiotherapy colleagues, therapy assistants and student physiotherapists.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and experience working with children and young people, who would like to develop their own skills further and support collaborative working across the multidisciplinary team.
