An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Clinical or Educational Psychologist to join the CAMHS Disability Team at the Hackney Ark. This is a full time position within the intensive support pathway (ISP) for children with an intellectual disability and/or asc, and in ASD assessment, Social Communication Assessment Clinic (SCAC)
The ISP provides enhanced specialist mental health support for a complex and vulnerable cohort of CYP, and their families, who have a diagnosis of autism and / or an intellectual disability, who display challenging behaviour or present with significant mental health challenges, and whose safety in the community may be at risk. The other half of the post is supporting the operational clinical leadership of SCAC. This is our non LD pathway for ASD. The role will include assessment and diagnosis as part of an MDT, and pathway leadership and development as we more to a more integrated NDT pathway across the CAMHS Alliance. The role will include general CAMHS work SPA, triage, initial assessment . Main duties of the job
The Intensive support pathway model is one that combines Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) with systemic and relational models. This pathway will be evaluated as part of a two year extended pilot project. The Highly Specialist Clinical or Educational Psychologist will have a key role in contributing to the development and evaluation of the pathway, in operational leadership, in supervising more junior team members and holding a small caseload. The team will work closely with both the specialist CAMHS teams at the Hackney Ark and Homerton Row, and with Tier 4 providers, education and social care, often through the CETR process.
The CAMHS Disability Service is very well-established and offers a wide range of care pathways (0-18 years; moderate to profound neurodevelopmental, ASD, LD/ID and physical disabilities) including specialist therapeutic interventions, neurodevelopmental assessments with post-diagnostic support, MDT and group interventions, SPA/duty and initial assessments and brief, focused interventions for autism. Systemic and relational models form the basis for much our work, alongside behavioural techniques and a variety of specialist, evidence based approaches. Referrals are diverse, reflecting our local community which we are proud to serve. Training and CPD are an integral part of our service offer to all staff, with a wide range of forums available for learning and development and regular clinical supervision .

Community CAMHS is a large mental health service comprising pathways and services from tier 1 (mental health and wellbeing in schools, WAMHS) all the way up to preventing accessing tier 4 through an intensive support pathway.
