Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the young and dynamic orthopaedic team at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. A one year fixed term Trust doctor post (ST1-2 equivalent) is available.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will alternate between theatre, clinics, and ward work on a weekly basis. There are 3 foundation doctors who will assist with ward duties. Each day there is a consultant ward round of new admissions and all the remaining orthopaedic patients are seen by a middle grade or consultant each day. There is also a designated orthogeriatric team to assist in the management of patients over 65. There are no on call commitments with this post although the post holder will be required to do ward duty on every third weekend from 08:00 - 17:30. We believe this post hence offers unrivalled trauma operative exposure with plenty of opportunity to do: DHS, ankle and wrist fixations. This is quite unique for a modern SHO post. We aim to help you obtain a successful CT application or registrar post.
