Job summary

Open Doors are a free and confidential advice service in East London for people working in the sex industry.

We are looking to recruit a part time, motivated and enthusiastic Outreach Development Practitioner to work with our dynamic team

The post holder will work alongside the other team members to conduct outreach and offer support to sex workers.

The post holder will take responsibility for developments and initiatives that emerge as part of the role and to this end she will be expected to have an exceptional knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable client groups.

Main duties of the job

Main duties will include:

The post holder will work alongside the rest of the Open Doors team to organise and self-manage her responsibilities within a rota based schedule of outreach development work.

There will be a requirement to attend multi-disciplinary meetings as part of her general duties and to use excellent communication and negotiation skills to support clients into clinical, legal and housing services plus any other support service that they may require.

The Post holder will be required on occasion to produce written reports and conduct presentations relating to her work. There will be an expectation that all necessary deadlines for production of written and training work will be met in a timely way.

The post holder will be required to monitor the number of clients she works with, however this monitoring will slot within the existing data collection activities of the service.
