Job summary
Are you self-motivated, enthusiastic, eager to learn and keen to develop the skills to work both autonomously and as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team? An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Services at Homerton Healthcare.
We recognise the value of investing in our team and want to support you to develop as a specialist nurse. We are offering this post as a band 6 with progression to band 7 on successful completion of your probation goals. If you are dedicated to supporting people with cancer we want to hear from you. You should have solid nursing experience and be able to give demonstrable examples of where you have made a difference to patient care. Important skills for a specialist nurse include; listening and sensitive communication, prioritisation, being self directed, being proactive on the patients behalf, conducting through assessments and MDT working.
You will be responsible for the care and support of people with breast cancer, providing specialist advice and psychosocial support through the entire pathway. In return we can offer you academic training courses, protected time to undertake development, a clear framework for progression to band 7 on successful completion.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a important part of the multidisciplinary clinical team in Breast Services. The post holder will provide specialist nursing care so that patients and their relatives/carers are supported through diagnosis, treatment and survivorship pathways. This will be achieved through the application of specialist knowledge, skills and practice.
We are looking for an experienced nurse with good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You should have the ability to work effectively in a team and be autonomous with your own case load.
