Job summary
The Children's Integrated Speech and Language Therapy Service for Hackney and the City is a large and dynamic team that is growing as it continues to attract new funding and deliver innovative models of working.
To take advantage of growth opportunities or to cover gaps in the service we need to be able to respond quickly and so we are looking to a staff bank of qualified and skilled Speech and Language Therapists.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a high quality speech and language therapy service to children and young people in a range of settings including Children's Centres, Early Years Settings, Nurseries, Primary, Secondary, Special Schools and with Complex Needs. The banding and allocation of the post will be agreed with the individual based on level of experience.
S/he will assess and diagnose speech, language and communication needs and contribute to contribute to multi-professional assessment for children with complex disabilities. S/he will plan and implement programmes of support and intervention for children with speech, language and communication needs, including children with complex disabilities. This includes the supervision of assistants and volunteers, and collaborative work with other agencies.
The post holder will attend relevant training in order to work towards more specialist skills and knowledge and participate in CPD and other developmental activities.
