Job summary

We are seeking a Breast Physician / Specialty Doctor in Breast Medicine to support the breast service at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. This opportunity has arisen on a permanent basis. You will join an existing team of two Oncoplastic Surgeons, an Associate Specialist, three Trust Doctors, and four Breast Radiologists. The post holder should demonstrate ability to work flexibly and within a team. The Breast Unit houses both the symptomatic service and the Epping Breast Screening Service.

Main duties of the job

The post suits a Speciality Doctor with recent NHS experience of running breast out-patient clinics (rapid diagnosis one stop, results and follow up). This post has no General Surgery commitment. The post holder will work closely with the Breast Multidisciplinary Team to support and enhance the delivery of high-quality care for patients with breast conditions. The role includes active participation in the Breast MDT, as well as attendance at relevant clinical and service management meetings. This job description may be subject to change according to the varying needs of the service. Such changes will be made after discussion between the post holder and the manager. All duties must be carried out under supervision or within Trust policy and procedure.

  • Experience in breast cancer follow-up and survivorship clinics
  • Experience contributing to service improvement or audit
