Job summary

This role supports of high-quality patient care in the cath lab and so the wider Princess Alexandra Trust. The post holder will work closely with colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure exellent patient care is provided at all stages of the patient journey through the cath lab from pre assesment to post procedure safe discharge. The role requires cath lab experience including theatre scrub nurse and curculating nurse sills, recovery nurse skills and experience in pre-assesmentt of patients for cath lab experience. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will lead by example as an experienced and knowledgeable nurse, providing structure, organisation and leadership within the multi-professional team The successful candidate will work in the cath lab recovery and theatre. The role includes completing detailed pre- assessment for all cath lab procedures. They will manage the department, staffing, ordering stock and patient lists in the managers absence. They will supervise junior members of staff and students. The post holder will be given the opportunity to enhance and develop their cath lab skills which fit with the needs of the department. There will be an opportunity to train as an operator for some nurse led procedures. They will collaborate with colleagues to deliver a high quality, timely service and to work towards meeting the Trusts and departmental objectives

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be expected to deliver day-to-day excellent patient care including: pre-assessment of patients, working in theatre as a scrub and circulating nurse and experience in recovering patients post procedure. They will be expected to document data safely and accurately on the electronic patient record and oversee the planning and running of lists. There will also be stock ordering and some administrative responsibilities.
  • They will Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery. They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and have good communication skills.
  • They will maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Trust policies.
  • They will participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
  • They will be able to work under pressure.
