Job summary

The Digital IT Training Team is key to the on-going successful track record of rolling out and maintaining Digital IT systems in the Trust. The team are responsible for delivering and supporting the full range of Digital IT training from Microsoft computer skills through to full end user training for an assortment of software solutions including Electronic Health Record (EHR), and other systems as required. Within the team it is expected that all members will have a common core level of skills and knowledge across a range of systems, in addition to having expertise in one or more key operational systems.

Main duties of the job

To deliver Digital IT training to Trust end-users across a broad range of clinical systems. To also be competent in Microsoft Office to advanced levels in order to be able to support the development of training materials and delivery of training. To produce lesson plans, training manuals, eLearning and ensure that training records are kept up to date.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Deliver IT training in line with standard procedures for:

• Promoting IT Security

• Promoting Data Protection

• Maintaining Confidentiality

• Promoting Data Quality

• To design lesson plans and deliver training to end system users in accordance with agreed standards specified as date of the training framework or strategy. This includes 1-1, classroom and larger groups.

• To deliver training and provide support on a flexible basis to all system users during the implementation period for new developments.

• Create eLearning in accordance with requirements identified from project boards.

• Scheduling of PAHT Staff IT Training.

• To identify users who require refresher training and to initiate a suitable training plan.

• Present at Trust inductions, to enable users to appreciate the importance of Digital IT. 3

• To recognise the varied skills and background of users and where possible adjust in the training sessions to accommodate this.

• Develop appropriate end user training materials, reference materials, certificates and handouts for distribution within the Trust and on the Intranet/Wikki/eCoach.

• To ensure that the relevant training preparation is undertaken in time for each training session.

• To ensure that data quality issues are highlighted to end-users during training.

• Maintain a complete and up-to-date attendance/DNA/cancellation record for training courses.

• To undergo intense training courses delivered by the System Software Suppliers (if required) to pursue continued personal development of knowledge and requirements to support changes in current software and to support new software as required.

• Ensure that new/enhanced functionality and data quality requirements are understood, and training materials are updated as appropriate.

• To support the Digital IT team to undertake software testing.

• Co-ordinates and supervises work being carried out by IT Engineers within the IT Training Department.

• To pro-actively develop, monitor and suitably request updates the training environment to reflect “live” environment, including roll back management if applicable to prepare for training events.

• To work as part of a team and attend team meetings as required

• Be responsible for planning and managing own day-to-day activities within established procedures and timeframes.

• Expected to be flexible to support go lives outside of the normal day shift hours
