Job summary
Ther Outpatient Appointments department is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the team as a Booking Officer. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday between 8am - 6pm (Early and late shifts)
You will be supporting the wider Outpatient Team, which includes reception, outpatient appointments and fast track. This is a dynamic and varied role which is extremely fast paced .It is vital to supporting our patients been seen within the national target times, and providing them a seamless outpatient experience at PAHT. Full training of in house systems will be given
Previous NHS experience is desirable with an understanding of the current urgencies and pressures around the booking of our patients.
Main duties of the job
- Communicating with our patients giving them the information they need quickly and accurately
- Answering telephones and email enquiries at pace
- Contacting patients by telephone or text messaging systems swiftly
- Processing outpatient appointment letters and texts, ensuring our patients have the correct information for their appointment
- Checking and inputting of data to computer systems, keeping information up to date and accurate.
- Ensuring the security of our data and data flows.
- Responding to service developments including the use of new technologies.
- Supporting Trust wide staff including colleagues from all backgrounds, to ensure a great service for our patients
- Responding to change and displaying and open and honest approach.
