This post is located in an outpatient clinic environment which provides specilaised Gynaecology services including Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, Early Prergnancy Assessment and acute Gynaecology assessment and treatment. You will be primarily based in Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy services supporting the clinical team to carry out gynaecological procedures.

Main duties of the job
The Health Care Support Worker works as part of the department team under the supervision of registered nurses and:
Participates in the delivery of patient care and support of women undergoing outpatient procedures
Contributes towards department organisation
Supports registered nurses and doctors in the provision of a safe and caring environment
- Participates in decontamination of the clinical equipment used during procedures
Completes the National Care Certificate
The post is advertised as a Band 3 role subject to the following:
successfully completing the care certification within the six month probationary period of employment, during which you will be paid Band 2
or
providing a copy of your completed care certificate which has been reviewed during the recruitment process and determined as meeting the accepted standard
Upon successful completion (or accepted evidence) of the Care Certification and completion of the probationary period of employment, you will be promoted to NHS AFC Band 3
Failure to complete the Care Certification within this timeframe may result in termination of employment
