Job summary

To lead work with the specialist nurses & consultants in dermatology to implement future biosimilar switches to maximise the income to the Trust from the gain share offered by the ICB's and to support biologics review clinics to review long term patients prescribed biologics. To report back on savings / income generation from the gain share from future biosimilar switches to the CCS Division and to the ICB's and to develop protocols to maximise gain share from future biosimilar drugs.

To lead work in managing the high-risk drugs within Dermatology by setting up monitoring systems and implementing shared care.

To lead, manage and develop medicines management initiatives to dermatology patients of the trust and to develop, train, motivate and encourage staff working within the team

Main duties of the job

Scope and range

To lead work with the specialist nurses & consultants in dermatology to implement any future biosimilar switches and to report back on savings / income generation from the gain share to the CCS Division and to the ICB and to review long term patients prescribed biologics. To lead the highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to patients within dermatology. To monitor quality of service to gastroenterology patients and to ensures medicines are used appropriately, safely, and cost-effectively .

Works directly and regularly with consultants, senior nursing staff, managers within dermatology and dermatology patients. Monitors and interprets expenditure on medicines within dermatology. Provides the division with regular reports to assist in the safe use of medicines, the management of the drug budget and clinical governance issues.

Supervise, along with other members of their multidisciplinary team, the development and implementation of treatment protocols, and guidelines for use of drugs within dermatology.

Participate in provision of ward pharmacy services and in training for ward pharmacists and other health care professionals, on aspects of drug use within dermatology.

Participates in evening, weekend and bank holiday rota andEmergency duty commitment.
