Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the leadership of the day to day provision of CT services at PAHT, ensuring the suites are run in an efficient and effective manner and that patients are given appointments commensurate with the clinical needs. The post holder will provide high profile clinical specialist support to the CT Radiographers and to the department. The post holder will liaise with the departmental Superintendent Radiographers with respect to staffing and other resource issues, and is responsible for the supervision of dedicated CT staff. This service is key to operational priorities within the Directorate and as such, the post holder will be expected to interact with senior members of the hospital staff reporting and advising on service demands and delivery. The post holder will be expected to articulate knowledgeably and effectively on complex technical issues to all service users.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to lead a highly efficient and productive CT service across 3 scanners at PAH and later 2 scanners at SMH and act as a clinical expert in their field. In December 2025, we will be going live with stage 2 of our CDC development programme which will include 2 additional CT scanners at St. Margaret's Hospital. As our radiographers rotate across both sites, the post holder will be expected to lead both CT services. The CT service comprises of acute scanning, inpatient and outpatient services inclusive of CT colonography and cardiac imaging. They will also be expected to work alongside the radiology management to develop policies, protocols and procedures so that the department meets the standards set by CQC, as well as working with the Radiology Control team to ensure that the department is compliant in key performance indicators. Attendance to departmental meetings is also required.
