Job summary
The post holder will work in collaboration with the named nurse and other safeguarding professionals within the safeguarding team to supportactivities that ensure the Trust meets its responsibilities outlined and in accordance with the Children Act (1989, 2004) and Working Together toSafeguard Children (2023).The post holder will work with the safeguarding team to ensure that the Trust maintains optimum standards including the update of safeguardingpolicies in line with local and statutory national guidance. The post holder will be expected to provide professional advice and support to healthprofessionals across the PAH NHS Trust on matters relating to safeguarding Children/Young People babies and unborn babies,working with partner agencies to ensure robust, timely communication and effective practice to safeguard.The post holder will be expected to support the planning, facilitation and evaluation of a robust training programme that is consistent with theIntercollegiate Document. Safeguarding Children and Young People, Roles and Competencies for Health Care Staff (2019) and supports therequirements of the workforce at PAH NHS TrustThe post holder will have a key role in providing reflective safeguarding supervision for employees at PAH NHS Trust as set out within the TrustSafeguarding Supervision Policy.
Main duties of the job
Maintain knowledge and expertise on National Policy in relation to safeguarding and provide advice and support to all staff.o Be aware of and apply where possible, the recommendations of the Safeguarding practice reviews , Confidential Enquiries,the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and NHSEo Demonstrate overt professional leadership and safeguarding expertise and foster a culture where all staff can develop theirown expertise and confidence and feel valued.o Establish good working relationships and work collaboratively with other agencies including Social Care and the Police.o Liaise with Named/safeguarding practitioners a locally and nationally, Children's Social Care, GP's and health visitorsto ensure effective communication and information sharing regarding safeguarding processes.o Ensure effective communication on all aspects Safeguarding including all changes and new initiatives and an effective learning environment for both students and qualified staff.
