Job summary
The Radiology team at Princess Alexandra Hospital, located in Harlow, Essex is actively seeking to recruit a Reporting Radiographer / Cross-Sectional Radiographer to join our dynamic team.
The post holder will provide a radiographic reporting service in MSK plain film imaging and/or chest plain film imaging. They will also carry out cross-sectional clinical imaging duties relevant the post holders prior experience. They will need to partake in the MRI cauda equina syndrome service which is currently being developed but is most likely going to require occasional weekend working in MRI. The post holder is expected to help the trust in meeting its duties of timely radiographic reporting and reducing patients waiting times for relevant cross-sectional imaging.
Main duties of the job
- Provide a Radiographic Reporting Service in MSK plain film and or/ Chest x-rays.
- To support trainee reporting radiographers within the trust.
- Support the reporting team, management and clinical leads in meeting operational and strategic targets, and improving the quality of patient care within Radiology.
- Be aware of how adherence to national and regional targets has a financial impact on the trust and to proactively work to reduce financial burdens.
- To establish an environment of support for reporting radiographer trainees and for other professions with whom the post holder would have close contacts.
- To supervise and perform a wide range of radiographic examinations, providing a high-quality Diagnostic Imaging service.
- To work, in partnership, with the Multi-disciplinary Team across traditional boundaries in all key functions.
- To perform cross-sectional imaging examinations such as MRI/CT as and when required by the imaging department.
- Facilitate staff and student training sessions.
- Supervise Band 6 Radiographer, Band 5 Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and HCSWs.
- Be actively involved in new patient care strategies and care pathways and be involved in promoting the Radiographer Reporting service.
- To influence the national policy agenda in Radiographic Reporting as appropriate.
- Participate in 8-8 7-day CES MRI service.
