Job summary
PAH are looking for a collaborative operational manager to lead cancer services across the 5 clinical divisions, ensuring that cancer pathways are seamless, follow best practice and collaborative. The Interim Cancer Manager will work in a triumvirate with the Trust Lead Nurse for Cancer and the Cancer Clinical Lead.
The Cancer MDT team work with the cancer manager to ensure that accurate data is collected and pathways are expedited and tracked effectively.
The Trust is implementing a new electronic health record system and collaborating with an ICS cancer system procurement and the cancer manager will represent cancer services in both these important projects.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring systems and processes are in place to enable central monitoring of Trust wide cancer performance and outcomes.
Work closely with the Cancer Information Manager.
The post holder will also represent the Trust at internal and external meetings related to cancer delivery and performance
The post holder will act as the single point of contact and expert on all matters relating to cancer delivery, while the final responsibility for cancer delivery and performance lies with clinical directorate teams
The post holder will act as the external liaison and professional authority on all areas of cancer delivery including the NHSEI and The Cancer Alliance.
The post holder will work with Clinical Directors and clinical teams to ensure any changes in NICE guidance or national cancer pathways are implemented successfully.
The post holder is responsible for managing all Corporate Cancer Services staff within the Directorate.
The post holder will have budget management responsibility for Cancer Services. The post holder will also be responsible for the accurate expenditure of all transformational funds available to the Trust
The Trust is implementing a new electronic Health Record called AlexHealth in October 2024 and this post holder will be responsible for leading the focus of the testing & training for cancer pathways and staff involved in cancer services.
