Job summary
You will support the management of a nurse led service, supported by Designated Nurses and Doctors for Child Death; it will provide expert capacity to enable a consistent, quality service across the partnership.
You will take CDR related key worker responsibilities in addition to managerial responsibilities and will be rostered as one of the CDR Practitioners to cover the full CDR Service.
The working hours for this will be 8:30am - 7pm Mon to Friday and 10am - 2pm Saturdays and Sundays.
Main duties of the job
To ensure Child Death Response (CDR) procedures are in place across the county of Southend, Essex and Thurrock (SET).
In the managerial role you will support and deputise for the CDR Team Lead (Health).
- You will need to ensure that partners are engaged at all levels. You will be responsible for ensuring that the SET CDR service provides high quality reports and data returns.
- You will support the production of the CDOP annual report.
- You will quality assure the delivery the dissemination of learning from CDOPs and measuring impact on practice across the partnership collaborating with professionals to inform and change practice.
- You will be highly skilled in providing constructive challenge and support to partner agencies by critically reviewing deaths.
You will provide specialist input into the ongoing development of the SET child death process.
The Child Death Review (CDR) Partners, the Local Authority and Integrated Care Boards (ICB's) in Essex and Thurrock areas have pooled their resources to form a single CDR Service.
You will act in collaboration with Child Death Review Team members to fulfil this role across the Integrated Care Boards (ICB's) of Essex and Thurrock supporting the lead for the implementation, co-ordination and management of all child death reviews in accordance with Government legislation and Local Safeguarding Children's Board Policies.
About us
We are a small team and you will be working alongside 4 additional nursing/ midwifery colleagues and we also have excellent administration support.
The CDR team is based at Princess Alexandra Hospital and the work involves visiting 5 District General Hospitals in Essex and liaising with tertiary units as required.
The families may be based anywhere within the Southend, Essex and Thurrock areas.
