Job summary
We are looking for an outstanding, forward thinking Radiologist with a specialist interest in Breast Screening to join us at the Epping Breast Screening service (located at St Margaret's Hospital in Epping, Essex), following a retirement, and help continue to lead our towards excellence.
You will be joining a breast radiology team of 2 radiology consultants (one screening, one symptomatic), a consultant mammographer and two advanced practitioners (both doing screen reading and stereo biopsies). The role would include both screening and symptomatic breast work, including Breast MRI, as well as General radiology (another subspecialty may also be accommodated). We are a cohesive, collegiate department that has monthly consultant meetings.
The Epping Breast Unit, based at St Margaret's Hospital is an innovative department having recently pioneered paperless breast screening, and soon to implement Lunit breast AI following an imminent upgrade of our Agfa PACS.
The Symptomatic service receives around 6,000 referrals per year accommodated in 3 single and 3 double one-stop clinics per week, with separate breast ultrasound and interventional lists including both stereotactic and ultrasound vacuum excisions.
The extended team includes two consultant oncoplastic surgeons and an Associate Specialist in Breast Disease, with two surgical middle grades, four full time breast care nurses and a specialist Family History nurse

- To lead and motivate the multidisciplinary team in order to deliver effective patient-focused care and interventions.
- This includes effective communication in line with the Trust values.
- To support consultant colleagues in the department in the delivery of their services where necessary
- Clinical Governance and Audit
A draft job plan is attached. This will be tailored to the needs of the successful candidate and the department. Theappointee will join the team of 19 Consultant Radiologists working throughout the Trust.
