Job summary

We are about to embark on one of the biggest transformation programmes our Trust has ever seen. Our Electronic Health Record (EHR) will enhance the work of nearly everyone in the Trust, and also the experience of anyone who access our services receives.

We're looking an Infrastructure Engineer who will support the implementation, evaluation and documentation of the technical design for the EHR programme.

You will be an expert infrastructure and cybersecurity knowledge, experience and skills. Reviewing and developing the IT Infrastructure in line with industry best practice ensuring this fits with the future direction of the health economy and the EHR programme.

Main duties of the job

The role is critical in supporting the delivery of the Trust's digital strategy and the strategic priorities in PAHT2030, a new EHR is also critical to our readiness for our new hospital. The role reports to the responsible EHR Programme Manager with whom they will agree their work plan and expected outcomes.

You'll be working across the organisational boundaries, influencing decisions where appropriate, negotiating areas of improvement, seeking agreement and co-operation; but always managing user expectations to ensure that they are aligned to the available resources.

  • Provide second- and third-line support to Trust staff in troubleshooting and resolving incidents and requests for all IT, networking and Telecom systems / equipment.
  • Maintain communication with customers in order to achieve response targets defined by the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Provide 1st class customer service to meet our aims of being within the top 10% of Trusts in England.
  • Provide specialist advice to senior management in areas of performance, stability, security and development. The post holder must be able to communicate highly complex technical system matters to senior non-technical staff clearly and in a manner whereby they are able to fully understand the issues. They will also be required to negotiate at a senior level and be a major influence in the decision-making processes

  • Masters Degree with Qualification/Accreditation in an IT specialism or equivalent relevant technical experience

Desirable

  • Additional relevant technical qualifications such as vendor accreditations (e.g. Microsoft/Cisco), GNVQ/A-Levels in IT, CompTIA, cyber security

Experience

Essential

  • Experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar function
  • Experience in effectively supporting a large scale, complex IT environment
  • Experience of supporting an Enterprise sized and/or Healthcare environment
