Job summary
This is an exciting time to join The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust have been awarded the funding to support the vision for the West Essex Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) in to providing timely access to diagnostics for all of the West Essex population, tackling health inequalities and achieving the 28-day Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) for all potential cancer and non-cancer patients. Clinical patient pathways will be joined up between primary, community and secondary care by redesigning existing healthcare provision to include elective and non-elective models of care and extension of opening hours.
PAHT sites, including St Margaret's Hospital, Epping (SMH) and Herts' and Essex Hospital, Bishops Stortford (HEH) via a hub and spoke approach will see better co-location of diagnostic services by offering streamlined diagnostic pathways with fewer appointments in a modern diagnostic setting. There will be future flexibility to add further diagnostics on the preferred site to meet the changing needs of the growing population
A newly instated Superintendent Radiographer role with focus on Management and Leadership based at the external site/s predominately HEH (CDC spoke) to oversee the plain film modality inclusive of the CDC components due to come online imminently.
Main duties of the job
- Management and Leadership of the Radiology Department/s at the external sites inclusive of the CDC
- Liaise with Radiology Service Manager/s including the Quality Manager for Radiology and Appointments Manager to ensure diagnostic wait targets are achieved.
- Ensure turnaround targets are met
- Production and implementation of all Protocols related to general radiographic practice
- Education and learning
- Student oversight
- Patient safety and quality facilitator
- Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure turnaround targets are met
- Ensuring outpatient clinics, GPDA, CDC, inpatients and MIU are provided with a efficient service
- Responsible for the training and development of radiographers working at these locations
- Local RPS
- QA programme lead
