We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Band 6 - Senior Nurse Fertility Specialist to join the Wolfson Fertility Centre team at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College Health care Trust.37.5 Hours per week

You will work as a part of Multidisciplinary Team with additional support from our Clinical Practice Educator. There are many learning opportunities available including, fertility, theatre, egg collections, embryo transfers, basic scanning, pain management, health promotion, patient education, pre-operative, intra operative and post procedure care, patient observation and discharge planning. Caring for this group of patients is highly rewarding and will provide you with plenty of scope to develop further. Main duties of the job
- Undertake nurse-led clinics for selected and appropriate patients, referring to experienced practitioners for advice and under supervision where necessary.
- Contribute to the safety of the service by reporting and monitoring patient safety incidents, participating in and supporting any relevant investigation.
- Report non-conformities and incidents to the HFEA and the Trust using the appropriate systems and processes.
- In conjunction with the Lead Nurse continually evaluate the changing needs of the role to ensure the needs of patients with subfertility are met. Contribute to recommendations for the on-going development of the service.
- Maintain a flexible approach and develop the role according to patient need.
- Support the day-to-day management of the clinic. Effectively undertake 'Nurse in Charge' role where required.
- Support junior nurses and students in the development of specialist fertility knowledge and skill development and achievement of competencies.
- Participate in teaching and in training programmes for the education of staff, thus contributing to higher levels of expertise amongst nursing staff.
