Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Apheresis Nurse Practitioner to join our specialist in-house Clinical Haematology Apheresis team. As our e. Our department is a leading clinical haematology service, runningservice continues to expand, this role requires strong expertise in acute haematology across both malignant and benign specialties to help deliver exceptional patient car one of the largest blood and marrow transplant programmes in Europe while maintaining JACIE accreditation. The unit comprises 58 inpatient beds across three wards, alongside dedicated outpatient and day care facilities, with apheresis services available 24/7.
We provide a wide range of innovative therapeutic apheresis procedures, including leukodepletion, plasma exchange, and automated red cell exchanges for sickle cell disease. This role offers excellent opportunities to expand your apheresis skills across various procedures, enhance your understanding of regulatory standards, and further develop vascular access expertise. You will also have the chance to engage in research and clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of apheresis services, while working within a supportive and dynamic team in a tertiary haematology and HSCT centre.
Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist Apheresis services, including therapeutic plasma exchange and red cell exchange.
- Support the haematopoietic stem cell transplant programme through the collection and harvesting of cellular products.
- Participate in the on-call provision and outreach TPE Neurology service.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the therapeutic RCE programme.
