Job summary

The Service Delivery Manager is an essential role that provides operational management to the Paediatric sub specialties at the St Mary's and Hammersmith Hospital sites, including outpatient and inpatient activity. The Service Delivery manager takes responsibility for managing teams and key national projects such as RTT (referral to treatment) improvement.

The Service Delivery Manager has line management responsibilities; provides operational support to the senior management team, maintains quality and safety standards and works on efficiency planning to ensure services are running effectively for our Children & Young People.

This broadly includes service improvement, business planning and staff management and you are expected to support the Business Manager to ensure the needs of the services and patients are met. As the service delivery manager, you should be organised and have a strong ability to manage multiple work-streams concurrently in a fast paced environment.

You will be supportive of and strive to develop your administrative teams and always put the patient and their families first.

A permanent and one year fixed term contract is available for this role.

Main duties of the job

  • Assisting the Business Manager in developing, supporting and implementing plans for service improvement.
  • Operational oversight of the paediatric department.
  • Supporting the Business Manager and Deputy General Managers to ensure the effective provision of high-quality services.
  • Provide operational management support to the services, supervising systems, processes and people for specific areas.
  • Effectively line manage and lead on developing staff, actively listening and constantly engaging the wider paediatric team.
  • Work closely with clinical colleagues to identify areas for improvement within each Service.
  • Management of staff and budgets for designated areas.
