Main duties of the job

As a Registrar, you'll assess and manage patients presenting with a variety of urgent and emergency conditions, working across all areas of the department including rapid assessment, resuscitation, and ambulatory care. You'll initiate investigations and treatments, develop management plans, and perform advanced procedures such as cannulation and chest drain insertion. The role also involves supervising junior colleagues, participating in teaching and quality improvement projects, and developing your leadership skills, with opportunities for further training in anaesthetics, intensive care, and paediatrics.

The post offers structured educational development with weekly teaching, quality improvement opportunities, and guidance toward completing RCEM examinations. The successful candidate will be trained and supported to act as a senior clinical decisionmaker, with access to secondments in Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, and Paediatrics as needed for career progression.
