We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, hardworking and passionate Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse who will manage complex PD cases, involving expert patient care, team leadership, education, quality improvement, audits and managing complications like peritonitis and working across acute / community settings.
You will function autonomously as a PD expert, acting as a clinical and professional resource; will deliver direct patient care whilst managing, leading, co-ordinating and overseeing nursing practice ensuring that clear communication and organisation within the PD Team is maintained; and will have opportunities to work collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

A full UK driving licence as well as an experienced, competent and skilled in handling Automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) machines: Claria & Harmony machines is desirable.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure high standards of patient care at all times challenging and ensuring others challenge poor practise, in accordance with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct.
- In collaboration with senior members of the Divisional team provide assurance that the standards set out in the relevant Nursing & Midwifery strategy and direction of Nursing & Midwifery for the Trust are delivered at ward level.
- Ensure nursing practices comply with Trust procedural documents.
- To have local open and transparent communication channels that support the Team to do the right thing for people we care for, to be bold when they have good ideas and to speak up when things go wrong.
- Lead the teaching, supervision and continuous assessment of all learners, delegating as appropriate. Provide a quality learning environment for all staff including medical and others.
- Ensure all mandatory study days are attended and that accurate records are maintained.
- Monitor and supervise performance of all staff, identifying and actioning specific training needs, delegating as appropriate.
