Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

Group Chief Delivery Officer

The closing date is 07 April 2026

Job summary

A defining leadership role shaping excellence across one of the largest acute systems in the NHS

North West London Acute Provider Group (APG) brings together Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust to serve a population of more than 2.2 million people through shared governance and shared leadership. From 1 April 2026 we will move to a unified Group model, building on the foundations of the Acute Provider Collaborative established in 2022. Our 12 hospitals and 37,000 colleagues share a deep commitment to innovation, research and partnership with our local communities.

Our strategy for 2024-27 is already driving change across 28 clinical specialties where teams are standardising pathways and adopting best practice at pace. Early results are strong: our Elective Orthopaedic Centre continues to deliver exceptional outcomes, and our hospitals remain among the safest in the country. With major developments in digital capability, including implementation of the national Federated Data Platform, the Group is poised to accelerate transformation further.

Main duties of the job

This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the next phase of our journey. As Group Chief Delivery Officer, you will provide visible system leadership, working with trust executives to deliver operational excellence and drive stronger, more consistent performance across all sites. You will lead the development of our Group Operating Model, ensuring we use our collective capacity well, support clinical teams to deliver high-quality care and strengthen our resilience. You will also play a central role in major programmes that define the future of acute care in North West London.

We are seeking an inspiring operational leader with a track record of success in complex acute environments. You will bring strategic insight, resilience and a collaborative style that builds trusted relationships and empowers colleagues. You will also champion an inclusive and supportive culture where teams can thrive. We welcome candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds who share our ambition and values.

If you believe you have the vision and drive to play a pivotal role in this next chapter for North West London, we would be delighted to hear from you.
