Ready to Lead and Make a Difference in Patient Care?An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 Metabolic Day Ward Manager to lead our busy and dynamic Day Ward and Outpatient service. This role is ideal for a confident clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high quality, patient centred care.
Our service includes a high throughput day unit alongside outpatient clinics, with patients frequently moving between both areas on the same day. Strong leadership, effective coordination, and close multidisciplinary working are therefore essential.

As the Day Ward Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational, clinical, and managerial leadership of the Metabolic Day Ward and associated outpatient activity. You will ensure the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of services, while driving quality improvement and service development.
Main duties of the job
o Provide day to day leadership and line management for a team of healthcare assistants and nursing staff.o Oversee patient flow, capacity management, and clinic coordination.o Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and health & safety standards.o Lead on staff development, appraisal, rostering, and workforce planning.o Act as a key point of contact for medical staff, allied health professionals, and wider MDT colleagues.o Contribute to service improvement initiatives, audits, and policy development.o Maintain a strong focus on patient experience and safety.We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates:o Proven leadership and management experience within an NHS clinical settingo Strong organisational, communication, and decision making skills.o Experience managing day case units, outpatient services, or complex clinical pathways.o Ability to work autonomously while fostering effective multidisciplinary teamwork.o A flexible, resilient, and solution focused approach to service delivery.o Commitment to continuous improvement and staff development.
