The Imaging team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is delighted to share this fixed term role to help support our workforce of the future!

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated radiographer with a strong background and proven interest in education and training. You must already possess excellent knowledge and skills, be open minded to innovation and committed to delivering a high-quality imaging service.

You will play a key, cross-site, role in helping to optimise the experience and offering to our undergraduate students, delivery of work experience opportunities for our local community and in exploring new technologies and partnerships.

We have a large student intake across our three sites and what we believe is a truly unique offering in terms of experience for the three universities which we are partnered with.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide advice and support for students and apprentices during their clinical placements and when undertaking work based learning, with the aim of ensuring they receive the best possible experience in relation to the placement areas, mentorship/supervision and achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Champion work with clinical leads, line managers and education staff to ensure adequate provision of mentors/assessors to meet service commitment for student placements
  • To enable learning opportunities to be utilised both in the clinical area and across the Trust as appropriate.
  • Use appropriate teaching methodologies including clinical supervision, action learning, facilitation, face to face, information technology and computer literacy skills to support learners and their mentors/supervisors on placement.
  • Work in partnership with HEIs and relevant Trust leads to co-ordinate induction programmes for students and apprentices.
  • Effectively support University leads in establishing quality learning opportunities for students and apprentices whilst in practice, this will include inter-professional learning.
  • Continually review the Clinical Placement facilities available to pre-registration students, identify new placement provision, including the use of modern technology

  • Diagnostic radiographer with current registration with the HCPC
  • Minimum of 2:1 degree or relevant experience and post registration CPD courses / activities.
  • Willing to undertake further academic study relevant to the post

Desirable

  • Evidence of Masters Level 7 relevant education / study / activity

Skills

Essential

  • High level of organisational skills and ability to plan workload, analyse tasks and problem solve.
  • Evidence of applying current research to practice and using research and other forms of evidence to audit, develop and improve practice (clinical or education focused).
  • Demonstrate the ability to compile complex written information
  • Able to present complex information and presentations to a range of internal and external stakeholders
