An exciting opportunity has arisen to Lead our Decontamination Services, consisting of an in-house Endoscope Reprocessing team, and outsourced Service Services contract and to develop and shape a Local Decontamination service.
As Decontamination Service Manager you will have overall responsibility for technical and regulatory compliance, resource, staffing and financial management and the leadership of a multi-site operation.
You will be experienced and qualified in both decontamination and general management, able to deliver a high-quality service in a regulated environment.
We have ERUs at St Mary's Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital, generally operating Monday to Friday, 0800 -2000, with occasional weekends. This role will require cross site travel but will predominantly be based at Charing Cross.
Main duties of the job
- This position requires a strategic approach to the development of services and structures, embracing continuous quality improvement and the management of changes necessary to achieve organisational objectives.
- The post will be responsible for the provision of a decontamination service for reusable medical devices to all clinical areas within the organisation and community services, including, but not restricted to flexible endoscope reprocessing, sterile services and local decontamination services, whether delivered in-house or outsourced.
- This role is accountable for the work performance of staff and the quality of product issued by the decontamination services.
- Lead the development and implementation of the quality management systems in line with current legislation, standards and Department of Health Strategies, Medical Device Regulations and the Health and Social Care Act.
- The role will also be expected to develop new initiatives to address the changing healthcare environment. It will also demonstrate pro-active management and leadership skills in the delivery of a reliable professional service in line with the organisation's strategic framework.
- To be the accountable manager for the decontamination service budget.
- To provide quality led, timely and safe services.
- To supervise and train staff.
- To manage operational and technical aspects of the decontamination service.
- Provide professional leadership and accountability for the decontamination services.
