Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust welcomes applicants to apply for this post Fellowship in Ophthalmology with special interest in Oculoplastics. This is a 10 Session post within the Ophthalmology service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

This advanced Oculoplastic Fellowship is a highly specialised program designed to offer in-depth training in the comprehensive management of oculoplastic, lacrimal (strong emphasis on endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR), and orbital disorders.

A distinguishing feature of this fellowship is its strong emphasis on thyroid eye disease. Fellows are actively involved in the multidisciplinary care of patients, collaborating closely with endocrinologists, radiologists, and other specialists.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be involved in:

  • Outpatient and inpatient care of general and complex oculoplastic patients.
  • To maintain good communication with GP, optometrists, hospital clinicians and other allied professionals
  • To provide teaching to medical students, other junior doctors, optometrists, nurses
  • To assist in academic and pharmaceutical research activities within the department
  • To assist in the management and development of the clinical service

  • Experience in oculoplastics, emergency ophthalmology and General ophthalmology and achieved Royal College of Ophthalmologists ST1 to ST3 competencies or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of full time ophthalmology experience
