Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is proud to advertise a post-CCT Senior Fellow in Foot & Ankle Trauma Surgery post based at the North West London Major Trauma Centre at St Mary's Hospital. We are the largest NHS trust in England, and together with Imperial College London we are one of the UK's first academic health science centres (AHSCs). Our five hospitals offer major advances in patient care, clinical teaching, and scientific invention and innovation. The post holder will have the opportunity to learn techniques of complex trauma management at one of the busiest Major Trauma Centres in the UK. As part of the role the successful candidate will gain exposure to elective foot & ankle surgery at Charing Cross Hospital as well as diabetic foot management.

Fellows are given dedicated time to and are expected to contribute to the research opportunities on offer.
Main duties of the job
The Fellow will divide his/her time between outpatient clinics, inpatient cover and trauma / elective operating lists. Operating lists include both independent and supervised trauma theatre cover at St Mary's and elective lists at Charing Cross. There will be a degree of flexibility to accommodate the successful candidate's preferences and interests.

Trauma and elective fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics at post FRCS (Orth) level, with the aim of gaining experience in Foot & Ankle surgery, especially complex trauma.
This post is targeted at Fellows seeking to fine-tune their operative and clinical skills whilst obtaining major trauma experience at St Marys Hospital. There are weekly dedicated trauma lists and regular elective surgery lists. The post is across-site (SMH/CXH/HH) but the on-call commitment is off-site for Charing Cross Hospital with the other senior fellows (plus senior cover for St Marys if an ST3 is on call or in cases where emergency cover is required). Approximately every 5 months you will also have an SpR of the week on-call commitment at St Marys. The job banding is 1B with London allowance.
