Job summary
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced General Practitioner with a Specialist Interest (GPwSI) to join an innovative, menopause and endocrine toxicity focused breast cancer survivorship service.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of personalised follow-up care for people living with and beyond breast cancer. The post holder will work in close collaboration with a Specialist Nurse, breast oncology consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care for patients experiencing endocrine therapy side effects and treatment-induced menopause.
Main duties of the job
Deliver GP-led and joint GP/nurse-led clinics focused on endocrine therapy toxicity and menopause-related symptoms for people affected by breast cancer.
Undertake comprehensive clinical assessment, investigation, diagnosis and management of endocrine therapy side effects and treatment-induced menopause within agreed protocols.
Prescribe and deprescribe treatments as appropriate, including non-hormonal and supportive therapies, in line with local and national guidance.
Provide holistic, person-centred care addressing physical, psychological and quality-of-life concerns.
Identify, manage and escalate complex or atypical cases in collaboration with oncology consultants and the wider MDT.
Contribute to MDT discussions and shared decision-making regarding ongoing cancer treatment, follow-up and survivorship care.
