Job summary
Post-MRCS applicants with registrar-level experience in trauma and orthopaedics from the UK and around the world are invited to apply to join the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department at St Mary's and Charing Cross Hospitals in the capacity of a Trauma Registrar. The post is available from April 2025 for 12 months.
The role has a 1B banding and full-shift on-call commitment.
The post will be based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust where the post holder will have the opportunity to learn techniques of complex trauma management at one of the busiest Major Trauma Centres in the UK. The successful candidate will also gain exposure to elective orthopaedics at the regional Major Revision Centre at Charing Cross Hospital.

Main duties of the job
Imperial College are proud to advertise a Trauma Fellow. The post holder will have the opportunity to learn techniques of complex trauma management at one of the busiest Major Trauma Centres in the UK. As part of the role the successful candidate(s) will also get exposure to elective orthopaedics at Charing Cross Hospital.
This post is targeted at registrars or equivalent seeking to develop their clinical skills whilst obtaining major trauma experience at St Mary's Hospital. They will be expected to be oncall for T&O for the Major Trauma Centre, sharing the rota with 18-20 other registrars. Responsibilities include attending trauma calls; leading the oncall management of patients, running MDTs, as well as attending fracture and elective clinics.
