Job summary
We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated Team leader Pharmacy Assistant for our Dispensary and stores team on both the Charing Cross and Hammersmith sites.
Our pharmacy assistants are the foundation of our service enabling the release of technicians for other duties. The post holders will be required to have or undertake training in according with the General Pharmaceutical Council requirements. This role builds on that experience with more responsibility for the workload management, allowing greater prioritisation.
You will work closely with the senior technicians for dispensary and stores to ensure daily tasks are completed in a timely manner. In addition, you will supervise and support pharmacy assistants when necessary.

Main duties of the job
- To assist in the provision of a high quality, flexible and responsive dispensing service to patients of the Trust, associated hospitals including the dispensing of prescriptions and supply of stock.
- To co-ordinate the dispensing of prescriptions in the appropriate time frame i.e. message pool prescriptions, OPAT, clinical trials and posted/couriered medication.
- To assist with the training of new staff with the various applications used in the dispensary i.e. Prescription tracker and CMM (Pharmacy labelling and stock maintenance computer system.
- To assist with the auditing of dispensary and distribution services.
- To co-ordinate the stock maintenance of sundries and personal protective equipment for the dispensary and offices.
- To assist with the receipt of medication into the dispensary or store, including receipt on the pharmacy computer system (ODELIV).
