To be successful in this role you will possess a passion for excellence and improvement by training, coaching and supporting all staff within the operating department, provide support for staff undertaking academic study, provide expertise underpinned by theoretical knowledge, skill and practical experience, imparting specialist knowledge of clinical speciality. A HCPC or NMC registration without restrictions is also mandatory.

Main duties of the job
- Be a professional role model, leading and co-ordinating the specialty team. Take continuing responsibility and accountability for the 24-hour management and organisation of the department. This involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities.
- Provide specialist perioperative advice Trust wide to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets.
- Ensure that patient care remains the top priority at all times, placing their needs, safety and well-being at the centre of every decision md action.
- Maintain a flexible approach to clinical duties, adapting to changing needs and providing cover across specified areas as required to ensure seamless patient care.
