Job summary
We are looking to recruit a full-time Band 3 Diagnostic Booking Administrator who shares our vision and is guided by the Trust's core values of being kind, collaborative, aspirational and expert.
The successful candidate will join our busy Diagnostic Team and help fulfil our customer service guarantee by reducing call wait times and improving patient experience. This role involves working in a centralised setting and being responsible for answering patient calls, booking appointments within diagnostic target times and adhering to the Trust Access Policy.
You will liaise with doctors, nurses and other hospital departments, ensuring accurate and timely communication. The post holder will be proactive, able to work autonomously and use initiative to solve problems, while collaborating effectively with clinical and administrative teams to deliver service objectives.
You will need to balance the demands of a busy workload and remain dedicated to delivering excellent patient experience. Knowledge of Patient Administrative Systems such as CERNER is desirable. Strong IT skills are essential to perform computer-based functions and provide advice to patients and service users. Previous experience in a patient-facing role with excellent customer care, communication and interpersonal skills is required.

Main duties of the job
- Responsible for booking, rescheduling, and cancelling patient appointments, ensuring compliance with all access and booking standards.
- Accurately input and maintain patient information on Patient Administrative Systems (PAS) and Patient Tracking List (PTL) for admissions and discharges.
- Commit to Directorate and Trust objectives, supporting organisational goals and priorities.
- Actively participate in service improvement initiatives to ensure the service remains fit for purpose and delivers value for money in line with operational policies.
- Undertake clerical and occasional receptionist duties, including maintaining a clean and safe environment.
