The aim of this role is for you to provide a high-quality, reliable, and truly impactful administrative and legal support service to our dynamic Legal Department. As a key member of the team, you will play an essential part in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and professional day-to-day running of our legal function. Main duties of the job

  • In this role, you will play a vital part in keeping Legal Services running smoothly by ensuring accurate data management, effective coordination, and timely support across all areas of the department.
  • You will enter and maintain detailed information on Datix and other legal databases, recording all clinical negligence, personal injury and inquest cases, and working with the Datix team to ensure the system supports the needs of the service.
  • You will also manage key information resources, liaising with managers and other departments ensuring reports are up to date and useful for analysing trends.
  • You will help prioritise incoming work to meet strict legal deadlines, managing the shared inbox, escalating urgent matters, preparing documents and maintaining clear communication with staff, clinicians, external solicitors and NHS Resolution.
  • The role includes gathering records and evidence for new claims, assisting with disclosure, coordinating with Medical Records, and ensuring NHS Resolution receives all required information.
  • You will support ongoing cases, help facilitate learning reviews, and ensure Datix is complete and accurate.
  • You will also assist with inquests and other legal queries by coordinating statements, chasing documents and managing requests from the Coroner's Office.
  • You will act as a first point of contact for the department, handling calls professionally, directing enquiries and supporting the team's on-site presence.
