Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our well-established, friendly, nurse-led team at the Hayes Renal Satellite Unit for a one-year fixed-term cover.
About the UnitHayes Renal Unit is a purpose-built haemodialysis facility with 24 stations, located on a tree-lined street opposite the Beck Theatre in Hayes. Staff benefit from free on-site parking.
Working Hours & ShiftsThe unit operates Monday to Saturday, 07:00 - 23:30, offering a range of shift patterns including long and short day shifts, as well as long and short twilight shifts. Flexibility to work across all shift patterns is essential to meet service needs.
Training & DevelopmentPrevious haemodialysis experience is not required - full on-site training will be provided. As part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, you will have access to excellent training opportunities.
Main duties of the job
- Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision including as required.
- Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based, individualised patient care.
- Assist and advise unregistered staff in the delivery of patient care.
- Organise one's own work load ensuring most effective use of time.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff and students.
- Ensure that nursing practices comply with Trust policies and procedures.
- Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.
- Assist in the teaching and development of nursing assistants and students helping them to achieve their learning outcomes.
- To keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence based practice.
- Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the speciality as advised by the head nurse or team leader.
