Here at Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust, the Theatres, Anaesthetics, Pre-operative Assessment, and Perioperative Pain (TAPP) Directorate is expanding its clinical education provision. We are currently recruiting for a Band 8a Lead Nurse for Education to join our growing team.
If you are a registered (NMC and HCPC) professional with substantial experience in surgical scrub, anaesthetics, and/or recovery, we would love to hear from you.
The post holder will need a strong work ethic, self-awareness, and the ability to recognize their limitations and areas for development. The right candidate should also be able to demonstrate significant involvement in supporting and training staff in clinical practice.

Main duties of the job
- Lead the TAPP education team to support and promote effective multi-disciplinary team education opportunities through academic and experiential learning.
- Provide teaching, supervision and continuous assessment of all learners, delegating as appropriate. Provide a quality learning environment for all members of the Multidisciplinary team.
- To have local open and transparent communication channels that supports the team to do the right thing for people we care for, to embrace good ideas and to speak up when things go wrong.
- Ensure the health and safety of all staff, patients and visitors, reporting any incidents, hazards, or defects and taking responsibility to minimise risk. To implement, with the senior team, action plans to ensure improvement if an incident has occurred. At all times adhering to and ensuring adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
- Ensure local plans support all clinical quality external accreditation, for example Care Quality Commission (CQC) essential standards, Safety Thermometer, Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN), Quality Accounts, NHS Litigation Authority.
- Responsible for ensuring that all education, training and development provisions and opportunities are regularly audited and the results fed back to staff and management.
