Job summary

A fixed term contract post is available for a Fixed Term Trust Grade Fellow Interventional Radiology in the Department of Radiology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

The applicant must be able to start in January 2026. The post is a fixed term position until end of July 2026 (6 months fixed contract). You will join a team of Interventional Radiology resident doctors ranging from ST4-ST6 and a large team of Interventional Radiology Consultants.

The Department is based on 3 sites in West London (Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital) and offers a wide exposure to all aspects of Trauma Imaging.

Main duties of the job

(a) The purpose of this post is to provide broad ranging experience in Interventional Radiology across the trust including Vascular, Trauma, HPB, Urology, Vascular access and transplant. The successful candidate will have six dedicated IR sessions per week and general radiology commitment.

i) Work with the consultants and specialist registrars (SpRs) to fulfil the clinical obligations of the department.

ii) Participate in research projects.

iii) Quality improvement and audit activity.

iv) Participate in formal and informal teaching to SpRs, medical students and ancillary medical personnel.

(b) Clinical Commitment: The fellow will initially be under the direct supervision of a consultant but will have a more autonomous role as they gain experience. A general radiology commitment is also expected.

(c) On Call: Participation in the IR fellow on-call rota currently 1 in 6 - non-resident on call.
