Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Imaging IT Manager to join our dynamic Imaging Department at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This key role supports the Imaging IT Programme Manager and works closely with another Imaging IT Manager, Senior RIS/PACS System Support Team, IEP and Diagnostic Cloud Application Support Analysts, and the RIS/PACS housekeeping team to maintain and enhance our digital imaging and information systems.

You will also work closely with our North West London hospital colleagues, contributing to collaborative digital imaging initiatives across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional with strong NHS healthcare experience and a strong working knowledge of RIS/PACS environments. You'll play a vital role in shaping the future of imaging services across our Trust sites--Charing Cross, Hammersmith, and St Mary's Hospitals--where Philips PACS and Soliton RIS are already in place. You'll also help implement new technologies and workflows, tackling challenges with innovation and collaboration.

We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including Imaging and IT teams, clinicians, GPs, and external vendors such as Philips, Oracle, Soliton, GE, Siemens, Sectra, and Clinisys.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the content, integrity, security, management, support and configuration and safe use of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Responsible for the content, integrity, security, management, support and configuration and safe use of other Imaging systems such as the NWL Image Sharing Network, PET CT Network, AI, IEP, Vital Images, Radimetrics, Sunquest ICE - Diagnostic Cloud, CVi42, Traumacad, Terarecon, Hybrid Mail etc. in the clinical Imaging environment.
  • Assess and advise on best radiographic practice related to Imaging IT Systems to ensure high quality diagnostic images are available for the treatment and management of patients.
  • Participate in the identification and evaluation of new diagnostic modalities, Imaging IT equipment and software or as part of the selection and procurement process.
  • Be the key link between Imaging, Information and Communication Technology Directorate (ICT), Data Protection (DP) and both internal and external Imaging IT system suppliers.
  • To assist in the provision of an efficient Imaging service.

Essential

  • BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent or Diploma or Degree in a Health Sciences or IT-related field, or demonstrably work to an equivalent level.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Desirable

  • Degree in an Information Technology related subject OR a professional qualification in radiography plus IT experience
  • Current or previous Health and Care Professions Council Registration (valid reason must be given if registration has lapsed)
  • Project Management Qualification
  • Portfolio demonstrating ongoing CPD

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience as senior application support of real-time clinical systems in a demanding environment
  • Experience of systems, maintenance and support within a clinical environment
  • Knowledge of working practices within Radiology departments
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation to include data protection and radiation protection regulations (IR(ME)R).

Desirable

  • Experience of evidence-based service process mapping and redesign
  • Other imaging IT systems
