Job summary
The Women's Health Research Centre (WHRC) at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College London is dedicated to improving women's reproductive health and childbirth. Our work focuses on enhancing care, outcomes and experiences, and we are now seeking a passionate individual to join us as a Senior Research Midwife / Nurse.
This role involves coordinating various research studies and patient recruitment. The WHRC's diverse portfolio includes preconception, obstetrics and genomics studies. Initially, the postholder will lead a new commercial study and contribute to prematurity research. They will also line manage a team of research midwives/nurses. Prior commercial research experience is highly desirable; proven line management experience is essential.
The postholder will help develop collaborative working methods to support recruitment and project management of portfolio-adopted and commercial studies. They will work across Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital and St Mary's Hospital, support the Lead Research Midwife in WHRC operations, and act as deputy when needed.

Main duties of the job
- To facilitate efficient, safe, high quality care and support for patients participating in research.
- Demonstrates high level clinical, technical and research skills through breadth and depth of knowledge
- To support and work with clinical teams to ensure research is embedded in the patient care pathway
- To lead on the set up, coordination and management of the local portfolio of clinical research studies
- To demonstrate sound knowledge of the life cycle of a research project from inception to study close out and performing all clinical protocol related tasks independently
- To act as a specialist resource for patients and the clinical teams by providing comprehensive advice, information, teaching and training on matters relating to research ethics and governance
- To lead the team to support frameworks for research delivery including recruitment to time and target and recruitment of first patient within 30 days of NHS permission
