Our Clinical Education Team is committed to improving patient care and experience through enhanced clinical skills and effective teamwork. We deliver high-quality training, including bedside coaching, competency-based development programmes and study events.
We are currently recruiting a Band 7 Clinical Practice Educator for a Trust-wide role across Imperial's three hospital sites: St Mary's, Charing Cross and Hammersmith. This post offers the opportunity to work within an Academic Health Science Centre and a Pathway to Excellence accredited hospital.This is a varied and demanding role requiring strong leadership, motivation and evidence-based clinical practice. In return, you'll continue to develop your own skills while supporting others. Alongside clinical coaching, team members lead site-specific and cross-site projects aligned with service needs and personal interests.
Formal teaching experience isn't essential, as development opportunities are available. However, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to improving surgical patient care are vital. You'll need a strong work ethic, self-awareness and a drive for continuous improvement.We're a supportive, high-performing team offering variety, challenge and the chance to shape education across Imperial. Main duties of the job
- You will maintain an effective educational environment through 'on the job' coaching and staff development in a variety of clinical settings, whilst working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to enable delivery of high quality effective care, thus improving the patients' experience.
- You will act as an expert practitioner, resource and role model, encouraging evidence based practice, providing support and supervision for all staff, including those on professional development courses.
- You will be responsible for the development of programmes of education and training; whilst demonstrating awareness of cultural and learning diversity in the workplace and the need to adapt training accordingly.
- You will collaborate on strategy development and be responsible for the achievement of educational targets.
- You will contribute to ensuring a conducive work environment and be a change agent with a strong professional and clinical focus.
