Job summary
An exciting opportunity has come up for qualified diagnostic radiographers to join the MRI team at St Mary's hospital - Paddington, London. We are looking to recruit a B7 Substantive radiographer for a full time MRI post.
St Mary's has recently installed the latest in AI reconstruction technology onto 3 of our 4 GE MRI scanners. The 3T replacement project is underway with a brand new scanner expected in mid 2026. We are therefore looking for fresh and dynamic individuals to join the team to integrate and further develop this service with the latest protocol optimisation.
In this MRI post, you can expect to perform a diverse range of diagnostic MR procedures, including cardiac imaging, for both adults and pediatrics patients. You will also be part of the team for interventional MR procedures including pediatric GA, and focus ultrasound ablation.
We are looking for individuals who are ready to embrace the challenges that come with the meticulous process of protocol overhaul, ensuring the sequences are in line with the latest research whilst prioritising department efficiency.
You should have excellent technical background and be ready to demonstrate leadership as you join our friendly and welcoming MRI team.

Main duties of the job
- Perform MRI procedures according to Trust, Departmental and statutory regulations.
- Provide a high standard of patient care within the specialised area of MRI.
- To communicate effectively in order to ensure the smooth running of the service.
- To supervise and line manage band 6 staff and students
- To deputise for the MRI modality Lead.
- Commitment to Directorate and Trust Objectives.
- To carry out a full range of MRI procedures to the agreed standards of the department.
- To abide by the Health and Safety Code of the unit and ensure that all patients and visitors do likewise.
- To assist the MRI administrative team in the course of their work.
- To maintain a high standard of patient care and comfort and demonstrate person-centric care at all times.
